Senior Accountant

Express Employment Professionals is actively recruiting for a Senior Accountant to support one of our top clients in the Central Valley. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take ownership of financial reporting, analysis, and compliance.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a mid-size or multi-entity environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or SAP.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal adjustments.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes with detailed financial modeling and variance analysis.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, and support cash flow management.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and tax preparers during audits and filings.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation tracking, and inventory accounting.
  • Provide financial insights to leadership to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
