Description

As a Senior Accountant at F.H. Black & Company Chartered Professional Accountants Inc., you will be responsible for providing accounting expertise for various client engagements in a variety of sectors and will be involved in both internal and offsite engagements. You will also assist in coaching and developing junior staff and provide mentorship where appropriate and report to the Assurance Partner for all file reviews. Due to the significant growth our firm has experienced in the past 12 months, we have an immediate need for an experienced public practice accountant.

ACCOUNTING & PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • NTR and Review engagement preparation, review and management;
  • Corporate and personal tax preparation and consultation;
  • Day to day and month end accounting processes;
  • Client engagement support and relationship building;
  • Consulting in specialty areas;
  • Excellent data entry skills and varied business experience;
  • Previous public practice experience required;
  • Proficiency in client relations and strong communication skills (written and oral);
  • Highest degree of professionalism is required by all employees.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Professional Accountant, with 3+ years of relevant experience;
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, and/or Caseware software;
  • Action-oriented, results driven with the ability to work in a team and fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent mathematical and financial skills, with experience in excel;
  • Exceptional priority setting, planning, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several responsibilities at once;
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and efficiency;
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Confident, reliable and capable of working independently;
  • Knowledge of accounting management systems and procedures;
  • Proficiency in MS Office;
  • The ability to pass a Criminal Record Check;
