POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated Senior Accountant to support our internal clients with their financial and accounting needs. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who thrive in a hands-on role and enjoy overseeing the entire accounting process from start to finish. As part of a small-to-mid-sized firm, the position involves a wide variety of tasks, including financial reporting and providing support for other family office responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting processes for multiple entities, including intercompany adjustments and the accurate treatment of complex transactions.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with ASPE reporting requirements.
  • Manage cash flow, including preparing wire transfers and coordinating fund movements with financial institutions.
  • Develop forecasting and budgeting plans.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues in accounting practices and internal controls.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including coordinating with external service providers.
  • Prepare and file various tax and regulatory returns (T2s, GST, WCB).
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Skills & Experience

  • CPA designation required.
  • 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge and application of ASPE.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
  • Experience with TaxPrep software.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proven relationship management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage conflicting deadlines effectively.
  • Experience in insurance brokerage is a plus.
