Description Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to oversee all aspects of fixed asset accounting, tax and compliance reporting, and lease accounting for our organization. This role serves as the subject matter expert for capital assets, ensures accurate financial reporting, and partners closely with internal and external teams. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage complex audit and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities Fixed Asset Management Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger, ensuring the accuracy of asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation. Monitor capital project activity, ensuring proper classification and timely capitalization of assets. Partner with Operations, FP&A, and Project Management teams to validate project costs and resolve discrepancies. Prepare month-end and year-end close activities related to fixed assets alongside another senior accountant. Tax & Compliance Management Manage audit activities, including serving as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors. Review tax schedules provided by consultants, respond to consultant inquiries, and provide a line of sight and keep track of compliance with all relevant regulations. Assist consultants and help to coordinate property tax filings, asset-related tax reporting, and other compliance documentation. Ensure fixed asset practices adhere to GAAP, company policy, and applicable state and federal requirements. Assist with the implementation and maintain internal controls to support accurate reporting and regulatory compliance. Lease Accounting Work with another senior accountant to manage the end-to-end lease accounting function, including the tracking, classification, and reporting of leases in accordance with ASC 842. Maintain the lease accounting system and ensure the completeness and accuracy of all lease data. Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations for lease liabilities and right-of-use assets. Collaborate with the operations teams to ensure new and amended leases are properly captured. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3+ years of experience in fixed asset accounting, tax compliance, or related roles. Strong understanding of GAAP, fixed asset lifecycle accounting, and lease accounting standards (ASC 842). Experience supporting audits and managing auditor relationships. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP or fixed asset management systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred CPA or progress toward CPA. Experience with capital-intensive industries, construction, telecom, or manufacturing.
