The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager - Financial Reporting, this role will play a pivotal part in delivering group reporting, encompassing statutory, regulatory and sustainability reporting. You will support the preparation and review of periodic consolidated financial reports, ensure compliance with accounting standards, all while maintaining a strong risk mindset and adherence to the internal control environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual group consolidated financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with AIFRS, IFRS and internal reporting policies
  • Support the year-end and half-year statutory reporting process, including liaising with external auditors.
  • Assist in the preparation of board and management reporting packs
  • Perform variance analysis and provide insights into group financial performance
  • Maintain and improve reporting systems, processes, and internal controls
  • Support the preparation of sustainability and ESG reporting disclosures
  • Collaborate with divisional finance teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data
  • Perform legal entity control and oversight of designated holding companies, including bank reconciliations and supporting month end close
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and automation projects within group reporting


About You

The successful applicant will hold or be working towards a CA/CPA qualification as well as 2-4 years’ accounting experience, ideally in a Big 4 audit or financial services firm. Additional skills and experience required include:

  • High attention to detail
  • Consolidation/financial statements experience
  • Ability to multi-task, work to critical deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in consolidation and reporting
  • Experience with the development of sustainability reporting and related frameworks would be advantageous
  • Strong proficiency in financial systems and MS office applications as well as knowledge of Technology One software is highly advantageous

Requirements


  • We want to hear from people who have:
  • 3-5 years of experience within a mid-tier accounting firm
  • Previous experience mentoring and coaching graduates and junior team members
  • Degree qualification and are CA or CPA qualified (or near completion)
  • Strong level of technical advisory proficiency; with tax and consulting/modelling engagements, including budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and valuations
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Xero skills
