POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role is central to the day-to-day financial operations. You’ll contribute to executing strategic financial objectives tied to the annual operating plan and ensure alignment with internal procedures and external regulations. You’ll also provide administrative and operational support within the accounting department.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Our client is hiring a Senior Accountant to oversee general ledger activities and support the month-end close process. This is a full-time, on-site position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the daily functions of the accounting and financial reporting systems, including reviewing source documentation and processing entries (adjusting, correcting, and journal).
  • Assist with the preliminary monthly close and provide reports for CFO finalization.
  • Oversee various accounting systems such as accounts payable, accruals, fixed assets, prepaids, and subsidiaries.
  • Support treasury operations by monitoring cash flow and short-term borrowing needs.
  • Help with preparing and tracking the organization’s annual budget; review departmental variances and assist with related communications.
  • Process daily online banking transactions and complete end-of-day settlements, including federal fund activities.
  • Handle both incoming and outgoing wire transfers.
  • Aid in asset/liability and investment portfolio management.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports such as the annual Summary of Deposits and contribute to the quarterly Call Report.
  • Support internal and external audits; collaborate with regulatory examiners as needed.
  • Manage reconciliations and account controls, including Federal Reserve accounts, ACH transactions, and ATM settlements.
  • Record entries for securities transactions and interest income.
  • Order domestic and foreign currency; remit taxes withheld.
  • Process returned deposit items and bi-weekly payroll entries.
  • Collaborate directly with the CFO on special financial projects.
