Description
Senior Accountant – High-Growth Home Services Company Location: Seattle, WA Area Job Type: Full-Time Compensation: $80,000–$90,000 per year, based on experience About the Opportunity A growing residential home services company in the Seattle area is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of the accounting and financial reporting functions for a rapidly expanding location. The business currently generates approximately $10M–$15M in annual revenue and is positioned to grow to $20M–$25M. We are looking for a hands-on accounting professional who can help build the financial structure, processes, controls, and reporting needed to support that growth. This is not a transactional accounting position. The Senior Accountant will be an important financial partner to local leadership and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financials, identifying issues and variances, improving accounting processes, and providing leadership with the financial visibility needed to make informed business decisions. The ideal candidate is comfortable digging into the details while also understanding the bigger operational picture. You should be someone who takes ownership, asks questions, identifies problems, and drives them through resolution. Key Responsibilities Own and support full-cycle accounting for a $10M–$15M operating location scaling toward $20M–$25M in annual revenue. Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounts. Analyze monthly financial results, budget-to-actual performance, and operational variances. Identify financial discrepancies, research root causes, and partner with operational leadership to implement solutions. Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to local and corporate leadership. Partner closely with the General Manager and department leaders to improve financial performance and accountability. Monitor revenue, labor, payroll allocations, inventory, expenses, commissions, and other operational accounting activities. Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial planning. Develop and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and standard operating procedures as the business grows. Ensure compliance with GAAP, company accounting policies, and established financial controls. Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other accounting functions when needed. Support internal and external audits and prepare requested financial documentation. Participate in accounting system improvements, integrations, and special projects. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong full-cycle accounting and general ledger experience. Demonstrated experience managing or playing a significant role in month-end close. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. Experience supporting a growing business, operating location, or multi-department organization. Strong financial analysis and variance investigation skills. Ability to identify accounting and operational issues and drive them through resolution. Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial data and reporting. Experience with Sage Intacct and Service Titan is highly preferred. Experience in home services, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, construction, or another operationally driven service industry is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with operational leaders. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Compensation & Benefits $80,000–$90,000 per year, based on experience. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance. 401(k) retirement plan with company match. Paid time off and paid holidays. Professional development and career advancement opportunities. Opportunity to join a growing organization and play a key role in scaling a successful operating location. The Opportunity to Make an Impact This role is ideal for an accountant who wants more than maintaining the status quo. You will join a successful $10M–$15M business with plans to scale to $20M–$25M. As the organization grows, you will play a critical role in strengthening financial reporting, building scalable processes, improving controls, and helping leadership understand the financial drivers of the business. We are looking for someone who can own the numbers, understand the operation, identify problems, and help build the financial foundation for the next stage of growth.
