We’re seeking a Senior Accountant who brings both technical expertise and analytical insight to support complex financial operations across multiple health centers. About the Role As a Senior Accountant, you’ll partner closely with the CFO and Controller to support budgeting, regulatory reporting, and financial analysis. This role plays a key part in strengthening financial processes, ensuring reporting accuracy, and supporting compliance across a multi-entity healthcare environment. This opportunity is well-suited for a seasoned accounting professional with a strong foundation in healthcare finance, particularly within Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environments. What You’ll Do Financial Planning & Reporting Support the development and review of annual operating and capital budgets across multiple sites Analyze financial trends and historical data to support planning and decision-making Assist with preparation and validation of key financial reports, including the annual financial audit and Forms 990, 571-L, and Welfare Form Filings Regulatory & Grant Reporting Contribute to DHCS PPS Reconciliation Requests and Change in Scope of Service Requests (CSOSR), including variance analysis Support annual Medicare Cost Report, UDS, and HCAI (OSHPD) financial reporting to ensure timely and accurate submission Assist with financial components of grant reporting, including Service Area Competition and continuation reports Analysis & Systems Analyze financial and practice management system data to ensure accuracy and completeness Investigate discrepancies and recommend improvements to reporting processes Utilize advanced Excel skills to manage, analyze, and present financial data Process Improvement & Team Support Help standardize and document financial processes across multiple entities Support cross-training efforts and development of training materials and staff Serve as backup for monthly close and reconciliation processes What Will Make You Successful Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and competing deadlines with confidence Work independently while proactively seeking clarification to keep projects moving forward Build strong working relationships across departments and effectively support and guide junior staff Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, catching even minor discrepancies in financial data and reports Bring advanced Excel expertise, including lookups, pivot tables, and index/match, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex workbooks Feel comfortable working with large, complex datasets and breaking them down for meaningful analysis Create clean, user-friendly, and presentation-ready workbooks that support leadership decision-making We Offer a Cadillac Benefits Package Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Paid Time off (PTO) and 9 Paid Holidays Life Insurance 401(k) with up to 4% Employer Match Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Why This Role Matters This is more than an accounting role, it is an opportunity to influence how a mission-driven healthcare organization allocates resources, meets regulatory demands, and sustains growth. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; or 5+years of relevant accounting experience Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for analysis and reporting Experience in healthcare accounting, with familiarity in regulatory reporting Experience working with multiple entities and segments Experience in developing and working with junior accounting staff Preferred Qualifications Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment is strongly preferred Experience with Abila MIP or similar accounting systems Experience with Paylocity or similar payroll systems and associated reports Familiarity with healthcare systems such as OCHIN Epic, NextGen, or eClinicalWorks Experience supporting Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, HCAI (OSHPD), UDS, grant reporting, or other government financial reporting
