Description

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance. This individual will be responsible for managing critical accounting processes, supporting audits, and providing valuable financial insights to stakeholders. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.

Responsibilities

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Lead month-end closing activities such as bank reconciliations, fixed asset and prepaids schedules, and loan amortization tables
  • Prepare bi-monthly payroll and process results in Ceridian
  • Calculate monthly tiered sales commissions for sales representatives
  • Prepare and file sales tax remittances within required deadlines
  • Complete quarterly bank covenant calculations and reporting
  • Assist with the annual financial statement audit along with Assistant Controller
  • Provide support for funding claims such as providing collect support for queries, compiling timesheets, submitting monthly claims.
  • Prepare monthly investor reporting packages and complete budget vs. actual analysis to be presented to the Director of Finance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies

WHAT DO YOU BRING TO THE ROLE?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA designation or in progress required)
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills (NetSuite experience is a plus)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Effective communicator and collaborative team player
