We want to meet you!   We are seeking an experienced Accounting Professional to join our Gorsuch family.  This position is an excellent opportunity for growth and development of a career in accounting.        This onsite position is located at our business office in Avon, (Eagle-Vail) Colorado.   About the Role: The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity and accuracy of the retail organization’s accounting operations. This position is responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, including the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide insightful financial data that drives strategic decision-making. This role demands a high level of attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment. Ultimately, the Senior Accountant contributes to the company’s financial health by maintaining accurate records and supporting continuous improvement of accounting processes. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably within the retail industry. * Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). * Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. * Experience with month-end close processes and financial statement preparation. Preferred Qualifications: * Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. * Experience with ERP systems such as GP Dynamics, or NetSuite. * Familiarity with retail-specific accounting practices and inventory management. * Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, macros, and complex formulas. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in financial modeling. Responsibilities: * Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes. * Coordinate and support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. * Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities by providing detailed financial analysis and reports. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as finance, operations, and procurement to support financial initiatives and resolve accounting issues. * Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Skills: The Senior Accountant utilizes their accounting expertise daily to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel enables efficient management of large data sets, preparation of financial statements, and detailed reconciliations. Strong analytical skills are applied to interpret financial data, identify trends, and support budgeting and forecasting efforts. Communication skills are essential for collaborating with internal teams and external auditors to resolve discrepancies and improve processes. Additionally, knowledge of retail industry practices allows the Senior Accountant to address unique financial challenges and contribute to strategic business decisions. Compensation and Benefits:  The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $72,000 to $105,000.
