POSITION SUMMARY

Constellis is hiring a Senior Accountant to be part of a dynamic and growing team. To be successful in the role, you you will perform general accounting tasks including but not limited to: balance sheets reconciliation, ad-hoc analysis and participate in special projects. This role is based in the vibrant and thriving location of Herndon, VA.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 4+ years of accounting and financial operations experience
  • Experience with Microsoft suite, proficiency in Excel is essential
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, motivated and able to multitask in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
  • Ability to recognize and solve business problems by applying appropriate use of logic to quickly isolate trends or problems
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact and communicate, both oral and written, with individuals across the organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Experience with Deltek, Costpoint and Cognos

Responsibilities
  • Prepares monthly journal entries for entry into the general ledger system on a monthly basis by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing audit trail support for the journal entries.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to liabilities, including but not limited to payroll, benefits and other short term and long term liabilities
  • Ability to prepare bank reconciliation for high volume payroll account
  • Reconciliation of ROU assets and maintenance of debt schedules
  • Prepare monthly account analysis and research to ensure accuracy and understanding of account balances and activity
  • Prepare monthly variance analyses for balance sheets accounts as part of month-end close process
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Assist with interim and year-end audits
  • Participate in special projects as required
  • Other duties as assigned
