We are seeking a highly experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for nearly all aspects of our accounting process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing all aspects of the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and payroll.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Reconcile tuition accounts, enrollment-related revenue, and vendor payments.
- Monitor cash flow and working capital to support operational needs.
- Conduct variance analysis against budgets and forecasts; prepare reports for leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Assist in the budget development process in coordination with program leadership.
- Manage CACFP Compliance across multiple locations.
- Assist in managing, observing and training other employees on proper procedures.
Audit & Internal Controls:
- Prepare and provide documentation for financial reviews or external audits as needed.
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal financial controls to safeguard company assets.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency across accounting functions.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff or bookkeepers.
- Partner with enrollment and administrative teams to streamline processes.
- Provide financial insights to leadership to support decision-making, expansion opportunities, and overall business growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. (CPA Preferred)
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and budgeting.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to translate financial data into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders.

This is a general overview of the responsibilities of the Senior Accountant role however, our company is growing and the job is likely to evolve over time. This is a hybrid remote position. There will be little remote work upon hire and during training, but as you settle into the position, multiple days per week should be able to be accomplished remotely, so long as productivity and communication remain high, and goals are met.
