Description Use your financial expertise to change lives, helping families achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.” As a direct report to the CFO, perform accounting functions to include financial statement preparation, financial analysis and compliance for the organization; serve as backup to the CFO in other activities related to the fiscal responsibility of the organization. Financial Accounting · Prepare month-end financial statements to be provided to the staff, Finance Committee, Board of Directors, and outside parties as required Annual Audit and Tax Returns · Prepare workpapers and schedules as requested by outside auditors · Review draft audit and tax returns for accuracy Grants (United Way, City CDBG, County CDBG, CDFI, NMTC) · Assist Development with financial schedules needed for grant applications · Prepare financial schedules and budgets for grants currently being received · Maintain schedules of reporting requirements for the grants and send out to the appropriate grantors on a timely basis Mortgages · Assist CFO with the mortgage process including setting up new families and monthly reconciliations of Keystone mortgage software and QuickBooks Online · Track mortgage delinquencies through Keystone software and send letters/emails to homeowners and coordination with attorneys regarding collection issues · Respond to homeowner requests for mortgage information · Assist with annual reporting to homeowners · Serve as backup for other activities such as preparation of loan payoff schedules and mortgage satisfactions. Requirements · The position is full-time · The individual must be detail-oriented, analytical, organized and able to work independently · The individual must have excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills · Minimum of five years of accounting experience required · Nonprofit and/or public accounting experience preferred · Qualified candidates should have demonstrated proficiency in QuickBooks Online and MS Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook) · Requires four-year college degree or 5 years’ experience in accounting. · CPA license or pursuit of CPA license preferred
