QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a healthcare revenue cycle or hospital finance environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition standards applicable to healthcare.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems; experience with ERP systems and healthcare billing software is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with a strong background in healthcare revenue cycle accounting to join our growing finance team. This critical role will support accurate financial reporting, revenue recognition, and account reconciliation processes tied to patient revenue and third-party reimbursement. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days onsite in Cherry Hill and two remote days each week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and reconcile healthcare revenue transactions across the revenue cycle, including patient billing, collections, and adjustments.
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and healthcare industry standards (ASC 606).
  • Collaborate with billing, collections, and coding teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly revenue-related journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes specific to revenue cycle accounting.
  • Review payer reimbursement trends, contractual adjustments, and denials to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support internal and external audits related to revenue cycle and accounts receivable.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to streamline revenue accounting practices.
  • Utilize ERP systems and revenue cycle tools (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) to extract and analyze financial data.
