 About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant & Investor Relations Manager to join our finance team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller and working closely with Executive Leadership, you will serve as the primary liaison between the organization and its employee-shareholders, ensuring clear, accurate, and timely communication of financial performance, investment updates, and corporate developments. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Reporting *  Support the monthly financial reporting cycle, including preparation of working papers, account reconciliations, and variance analysis to ensure accurate and timely close. *  Manage sales tax compliance across Canada (GST/HST/PST/QST) and the United States (state and local sales tax), including timely filing of returns, remittances, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of applicable tax regulations. *  Administer and maintain the company’s corporate credit card program, including issuance, policy enforcement, expense reconciliation, and ongoing oversight of cardholder activity. *  Assist in preparing financial reporting packages and supporting files for quarterly financial review calls across each business unit, ensuring data accuracy and clear presentation for leadership discussions. *  Aid in the annual budgeting process and support ongoing forecasting activities, collaborating with business unit leaders to compile, review, and analyze financial projections. *  Ensure compliance with ASPE and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during annual audits and filings. *  Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard organizational assets and support ad hoc financial analysis as required by senior leadership.  Investor Relations Management    * Act as the primary point of contact for all employee-shareholders regarding investment inquiries, updates, and reporting, fostering a transparent, trust-based relationship between the organization and its employee shareholder base. * Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, performance summaries, and investment updates to employee-shareholders. * Organize and lead shareholder meetings, presentations, and Q&A sessions in both English and French. * Develop and maintain shareholder relations materials including newsletters, FAQs, and financial summaries. * Develop and maintain a comprehensive system of legal document record keeping for the employee share ownership program, including share certificates, ownership transfers, shareholder agreements, and related corporate records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable Canadian regulations. * Maintain and update the company’s internal share register on the organization’s online platform, ensuring all shareholder records are current, accurate, and fully consistent with official records maintained by external legal counsel. Coordinate with counsel to reconcile discrepancies and reflect any changes in share ownership on a timely basis. * Manage annual legal registrations and renewals for all entities within the corporate group across the various federal, provincial, and state jurisdictions in which they operate, coordinating with external counsel and regulatory bodies to ensure filings are completed accurately and on time. * Ensure all shareholder communications comply with applicable Canadian regulatory requirements and internal policies.  Qualifications and Requirements  Education    *  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. *  CPA designation (CPA, CA / CPA, CGA / CPA, CMA) is strongly preferred. Experience   *  Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in shareholder relations, senior accounting or a similar combined role. *  Demonstrated experience managing shareholder communications within a private organization. *  Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance in a Canadian or US business context. Language Requirements   *  Full professional proficiency in both English and French (written and spoken) is preferred.  Skills & Competencies *  Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP / ASPE and financial reporting standards. *  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly. *  High degree of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential shareholder information. *  Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). *  Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. *  Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
