Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with expertise in jewelry manufacturing operations to manage complex financial processes, inventory valuation, and compliance requirements specific to the precious metals and gemstone industry. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and experience in cost accounting within manufacturing environments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional certification (CA, CPA, ACCA, or CMA) preferred
  • Additional certification in precious metals or jewelry industry advantageous

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience in manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years specific experience in jewelry, precious metals, or luxury goods industry
  • Strong experience with inventory management and cost accounting
  • Knowledge of UAE accounting standards and VAT regulations
  • Experience with precious metal trading and valuation

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and inventory management modules
  • Familiarity with precious metal pricing and market fluctuations
  • Understanding of gemstone grading and valuation principles

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT & REPORTING

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UAE accounting standards
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
  • Conduct month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Prepare detailed financial reports for management and stakeholders
  • Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis

JEWELRY MANUFACTURING SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Precious Metal Inventory Management: Track and value gold, silver, platinum, and other precious metals inventory using appropriate costing methods
  • Gemstone Valuation: Maintain accurate records of diamond and gemstone purchases, valuations, and inventory movements
  • Cost Accounting: Calculate manufacturing costs including metal wastage, labor, and overhead allocation
  • Hallmarking Compliance: Ensure proper documentation for hallmarking and certification processes
  • Import/Export Documentation: Manage customs declarations and trade documentation for precious metals and finished goods
