Description

KBP Brands, a leading franchise company in QSR, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team. You will play a vital role by ensuring accounting records are maintained in accordance with GAAP and internal accounting policies. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, this position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and contribute to the success of our organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform financial statement reconciliations and analyze key data trends.
  • Manage the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items, transaction errors, and discrepancies.
  • Analyze balance sheet fluctuations and provide variance explanations.
  • Research accounting standards and document technical accounting matters.
  • Assist with external audits and prepare quarterly and annual reports.
  • Reconcile and report on 1,000+ leased properties, including rent calculations and intercompany leases.
  • Oversee facility improvement and capital project spending, including reconciliation and reporting.
  • Prepare cash flow statements and provide insights into variances and company results.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial information to meet deadlines.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems and processes.
  • Support additional projects and tasks assigned by the Assistant Controller.

What We’re Looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 3 to 5 years of accounting experience with an increasing level of responsibilities
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • CPA and public accounting experience – preferred but not required
  • Intelligent curiosity in the evaluation and analysis of a variety of technical accounting matters; ability to clearly articulate accounting guidance research
  • Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills to analyze large data sets
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation with an emphasis on establishing and understanding processes with a strong attention to details
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people in financial and non-financial roles
  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize and manage tasks to completion in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
