Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB.
• Perform account reconciliations (bank, intercompany, accruals, provisions).
• Record and review journal entries.
• Perform Fixed asset accounting bookings (acquisition, depreciation, revaluation, impairment, and disposal).
• Ensure correct VAT and Customs Tax postings and support VAT returns.
• Prepare reports to fiscal authorities and tax offices.
• Support the management of tax and tax audits.
• Support year-end closing and collaborate with external auditors.
• Monitor compliance with GoBD and internal accounting policies.
• Actively participate in process improvement initiatives and automation in accounting workflows.
• Prepare financial analyses and reports for management.
• Close communication and working with our Shared Service Center in Sibiu (Romania) and Corporate Accounting team in Duisburg.
• Work very closely with Controlling for month end processes, and explanations of results.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or comparable qualification.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in general ledger / financial accounting.
• Strong knowledge of HGB and German accounting standards.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (preferably MS D365, SAP).
• Solid Excel skills.
• Fluent German and English.
• Development of good understanding and focus of the business for premium internal customer experience.
