Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for providing regulatory, compliance, statutory, accounting and financial reporting for the business and Group. You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, managing reconciliations, preparing financial statements, and driving continuous improvement across accounting processes and systems. Key responsibilities will be but not limited to: Maintain and manage the reconciliation and analysis of data across financial systems to ensure accuracy between front and back-office systems. Ensure accurate and timely month-end reporting, compliance reporting (BAS, FBT, Levies, Annual Accounting, etc.) and group reporting by required deadlines. Manage and reconcile the company’s financial position reports, ensuring compliance with audit and statutory obligations. Prepare statutory financial statements and work papers supporting financial disclosures in accordance with Corporations Law and Australian Accounting Standards (AASB). Proactively communicate with Group Finance to reconcile differences and resolve discrepancies. Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, reforecasts, and the 5-year business plan. Manage FX exposure and ensure hedging activities comply with Group Policy. Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting systems, processes, and procedures, including documentation and regular review. Participate and support regional updates and implementations of accounting, execution, and treasury systems. Desired Skills and Experience: 5–10 years’ experience in finance or accounting roles, ideally within the commodities, agribusiness, or financial services sector. Deep knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and Australian tax legislation. Strong technical skills in consolidation and the preparation of group income tax returns. Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet reporting deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret both qualitative and quantitative data. Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of SAP HANA preferred. Experience with JDE advantageous. Experience working on IT or systems deployment projects desirable. Understanding of accounting for processing and warehousing assets, derivative products (futures, forwards, options), and treasury/funding functions advantageous Qualifications Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline. Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualification required.
