Description Full-Time | Onsite, Hybrid, or Fully Remote MCHC Health Center is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the financial integrity and long-term sustainability of our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This role offers the opportunity to work in a mission-driven organization while applying advanced accounting expertise in a complex, highly regulated healthcare environment. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and regulatory compliance, and works closely with the CFO and Controller to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and support a collaborative, cross-trained accounting team. Key Responsibilities Lead monthly close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations Prepare annual operating and capital budgets Manage and support the annual financial audit Prepare Medicare Cost Reports and PPS Reconciliations Assist with Form 990, UDS, OSHPD, and other regulatory and grant reporting Ensure timely and accurate reporting to grantors and regulatory agencies Support ad hoc financial analysis and special reporting requests Collaborate with leadership to improve accounting processes and documentation Assist with developing training materials and cross-training staff across accounting functions Why Join MCHC Flexible work options: onsite, hybrid, or fully remote Opportunity to work closely with executive leadership Meaningful work supporting underserved communities Collaborative, mission-driven culture that values both excellence and well-being Role with depth, variety, and long-term impact As a Federally Qualified Health Center, MCHC is deeply committed to its mission and to fostering a positive and supportive work environment. We are seeking someone who brings technical expertise, integrity, and a genuine passion for serving underserved populations. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; or a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions. Experience working with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of and experience with the Abila MIP accounting application. Experience working with healthcare practice management systems, including OCHIN Epic, NextGen, and eClinicalWorks. Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting.
