Description

MODUS Structures has a new position within our Accounting Department. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the following:

  • Assist in preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements as well as various management reports
  • Assist in completion of monthly reconciliation of balance sheet and income statements accounts, including WIP and Inventory accounts
  • Hands on and review of the day-to-day accounting including monthly journal entries for revenue and COGS, GST remittances, bank reconciliations, project status updates and maintenance of the fixed asset continuity schedule
  • Compile statistical reports, statements and summaries related accounting as required. The trends will need to be analyzed and responded to effectively to ensure desired results.
  • Assist accounting team members where required to meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education from an accredited university or college in accounting or finance
  • Accounting designation or working towards a designation;
  • 5+ years’ accounting experience, with previous experience in accounting and financial analysis
  • Advanced Excel is preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing/construction industry an asset
  • Conscientious worker, who can work independently or in a team setting with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to prioritize workload and work with deadlines on short notice.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization with high levels of integrity, tact and maturity
