ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a motivated Senior Accountant to join our passionate and high-performing Business Advisory team. This role is open to candidates based in our Rockhampton or Biloela or Brisbane CBD offices.
As part of our Agribusiness Specialist team, you’ll bring your existing business advisory expertise to deliver meaningful outcomes for our rural and regional clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your strong technical knowledge across a broad range of industries while contributing niche insights into one of Australia’s most vital economic sectors.
Our team works on a diverse range of client engagements, including compliance, tax planning, succession planning, and farm business consulting. You’ll also have opportunities to travel to regional areas for both client work and community engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior Accountant you will:

  • Manage and support client engagements including accounts preparation, annual returns, BAS, and trust/company administration
  • Deliver tax services such as researching and resolving tax issues, analysing income and expenditure, and preparing/checking tax returns
  • Prepare and review tax returns and financial statements for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
  • Produce and maintain financial reports using software including Xero, MYOB and Reckon
  • Support and mentor junior staff while managing your own workflow
  • Identify and communicate business improvement opportunities for clients

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or equivalent
  • Completed (or close to finishing) professional qualifications (CA, CPA or equivalent)
  • 3-6 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in public practice
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with both clients and colleagues
  • Proven leadership capabilities and a commitment to professional growt
