Provides support in the organization’s accounting and finance functions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Strong understanding of accounting principles and proven experience in an accounting and/or finance role. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, but not required; 2+ years industry related experience and/or training in manufacturing or distribution companies preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Microsoft Office programs, strong and proficient Excel skills, general computer skills and knowledge, excellent organizational and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to self-direct based on deadlines and priorities , with the ability to adapt to changes. Ability to travel if needed is also preferred. Experience with Power BI preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills essential to effectively fulfill the job requirements herein. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common articles and documents, financial reports, and basic legal documents. Ability to effectively present information to management.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply general accounting principles. Advanced mathematical concepts to effectively analyze statistics regarding internal and external data.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with month-end financial period close - post journal entries to general ledger, review variances, prepare workpapers and other related analyses, reconcile accounts, maintain required documentation, other duties as necessary
  • Fixed Assets – Maintain schedules, post monthly depreciation expense, etc.
  • Reconcile Bank statements and ensure accurate records
  • Manage the pricing process for all finished goods
  • Assist with audits throughout the year
  • Assist with Physical Inventory process throughout the year
  • Experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Reconcile Intercompany transactions
  • Send credit card statements to company card holders, reconcile Credit Card usage with expense reports and post to General Ledger
  • Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries
  • Monthly Financial KPI reports
  • Payroll – Manage weekly (hourly) and bi-monthly (salaried) payroll, track vacation hours and update within payroll system
  • Daily/Weekly/Monthly Payroll KPI’s and Reports
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Serve as a “back-up” for Staff Accountant (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, etc.) and Remote Deposits
  • Work on projects assigned by CFO and Financial Controller
  • Train junior staff when necessary
  • Protects organization’s values by keeping information confidential
