Description O Bee Credit Union is hiring a Senior Accountant to join our amazing team in our Accounting Team. This is a full-time role that plays a vital part in supporting our mission, our Members, and our one-of-a-kind company culture. Wait, there’s more! What You’ll Do As an unapologetically unique credit union, we thrive on improving the lives of our Members through financial well-being. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for coordinating, supporting, and overseeing various accounting operations and functions timely and efficiently. Develops, performs, instructs, and oversees accurate performance of accounting procedures. Works with Controller and Finance Manager on various accounting and operational projects. Prepares for and performs month-end close within 3-5 days. Supports multiple project managers, helps credit union executives with timely information to make operational and strategic decisions. Provides operational leadership for the credit union by directing the credit union's accounting and payment processing functions. Assists the CFO and Controller in formulating and administering operational policies. Responsible for maintaining internal control systems and acting as a back-up for Controller. What Desired Qualifications You’ll Bring · Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. · 4 – 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2–3 in a credit union or community bank. · Experience with financial software. Skills That Shine Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information. Advanced knowledge of financial institution accounting and payment processing. Advanced knowledge of financial institution data processing systems. Symitar experience strongly desired. Advanced knowledge of software products including Excel (basic formulas, lookups, and Pivot Tables), Word and Outlook.
