POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant manages and analyze financial data, ensures compliance with accounting standards and support the financial health of our marina operations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized business
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, hands-on environment

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with POS systems and marina management software (e.g., Dockwa, Marina Master)
  • Familiarity with fuel sales accounting and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting requirements for retail and marine services.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, accruals, and account reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including vendor invoice processing, coding, approvals, and timely payments.
  • Monitor revenue and expense accounts related to marina operations, including dockage, fuel sales, repairs, and retail activities.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or operational improvements.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Support audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries from auditors and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable local/state/federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with operations managers and other departments to improve financial workflows and reporting accuracy.
  • Assist in the implementation and enhancement of accounting software and systems.
