Description Senior Accountant-Onsite Department: Finance / Accounting Reports to: Controller Location: Irving, Texas. Employment Type: Full-Time - This is an in-person role We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team and play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, driving process improvements, and supporting strategic decision-making. Job Summary The Senior Accountant will perform complex accounting functions, lead month-end/year-end close processes, ensure compliance with GAAP, prepare accurate financial reports, and provide mentorship to junior accounting staff. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to collaborate across departments in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) in compliance with GAAP and internal policies Oversee full-cycle accounting processes, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion Perform detailed variance analysis, trend analysis, and financial forecasting to support management decision-making Prepare and review account reconciliations (bank, fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, etc.) and resolve reconciling items Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and direct interaction with auditors Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations; prepare supporting schedules for income tax returns and other regulatory filings Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls Mentor and provide guidance to junior accountants and accounting staff; review their work for accuracy Collaborate with cross-functional teams (FP&A, operations, procurement, etc.) on financial matters and special projects Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, regulations, and best practices Requirements Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and a minimum of 7 years of experience Professional certification is strongly preferred: CPA, CMA, or equivalent (active license a plus) Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP; experience with revenue recognition, lease accounting, and complex accruals is highly desirable Proficiency in accounting/ERP software (e.g., Acumatica) is preferred Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, advanced formulas, data modeling) Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff preferred Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders Required Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities High attention to detail combined with the ability to see the big picture Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines Team-oriented mindset with a focus on coaching and staff development Integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment in handling confidential financial information Benefits TAS Environmental Services offers a competitive benefits program, including comprehensive group health and related benefits plan.
