Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Accountant with Navision skills to join our finance team in Hungary. This role will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and optimizing our accounting processes.
You Will:
- Comprehensively manage our company accounting operations for Hungary, encompassing the accurate posting of all ledger entries and accounting transactions—such as accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, depreciation, liabilities, and inventory—while ensuring full compliance with applicable legislation in both countries.
- Review and verify accounting documents for accuracy and completeness, maintaining fixed asset records, processing depreciation, and conducting regular inventory checks.
- Prepare submission of VAT returns, and control statements • Preparing inputs for tax returns (e.g., corporate income tax, Innovation tax, Municipally tax) • Communicating with tax advisors, auditors, tax authorities, statistical offices, and other institutions.
- Perform regular closing activities (monthly, quarterly, and annual) and prepare financial statements and audit documentation.
- Monitor legislative changes and ensure their implementation in the company’s accounting practices.
- Prepare statistics and financial reports for the company’s management.
- Oversee the accounts receivable and payable ledger, reconciling accounts, and monitoring payment flows.
- Process bank statements.
- Cooperate with the HR department on payroll processing and posting.
- Utilise the Navision (Microsoft Dynamics NAV) accounting system to ensure the accuracy of accounting transactions and operations.
You Have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role with comprehensive accounting responsibilities.
- English Proficiency Requirement – Minimum Level: B2; Must be able to write and read emails effectively; should possess good accounting and finance-related spoken English skills
- Advanced knowledge of accounting and tax regulations in the Hungary (VAT, corporate income tax, and others).
- Strong experience with Navision (Microsoft Dynamics NAV) accounting software is mandatory.
- Perfect knowledge of Hungarian Accounting Standards, as well as good knowledge of IFRS
- High level of accuracy, independence, and a responsible approach to work.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel (e.g., creating reports, pivot tables).
- Analytical thinking, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
This is a permanent part time vacancy of approximately 20 hours per week
