Apply your leadership and analytical strengths as Senior Assistant Director, Finance & Business Support, where your high standards for accuracy. Your purpose will be: Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take full ownership of the Accounting/payroll function at Fairmont Grand Del Mar. You will manage all aspects of accounting/payroll independently, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely processing for all employees while collaborating closely with the broader Finance team and People and Culture department. You Will Be Accountable For: Taking full ownership of the payroll process, including monthly payroll runs, amendments, bonuses, deductions, taxes, and attachment of earnings orders. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, HMRC regulations, and Accor internal audit standards. Maintaining complete and accurate employee payroll records in the payroll system. Liaising with People & Culture department, managers, and employees regarding payroll data, queries, and record maintenance. Verifying and processing Service Charge, Gratuity & TRONC payments accurately and on time. Handling payroll-related audit queries and providing required documentation. Training and supporting line managers and leaders on payroll processes and software. Preparing reports and updates on payroll for the Financial Controller and hotel leadership. Supporting the Finance team with general queries or ad hoc tasks, fostering collaboration across Finance functions. Ensuring confidentiality and security of all payroll information at all times. Keeping up-to-date with payroll legislation, Revenue updates, and best practices, implementing changes where necessary. Direct and manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger operations Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Oversee the budgeting process and provide regular financial forecasts and reports to senior management Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and goal-oriented work environment Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for improvement Manage cash flow and treasury operations, optimizing working capital management Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and tax regulations, ensuring organizational compliance Qualifications What you will need to do in this role? Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required) CPA, CMA, or MBA (preferred) Minimum of 4 to 7 years in similar position, preferably in the hospitality industry Please note that we believe in flexibility and multi-skilling, and you may be asked to do different tasks from time to time to enable us to meet the needs of our guests and colleagues. Proven experience managing payroll independently, ideally within luxury hospitality. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory compliance, and best practices. Highly organized with excellent time management and attention to detail. Strong analytical skills and ability to problem-solve independently. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work autonomously while collaborating with a wider team. Proficient in payroll software (Alkimi-Payescape) and Microsoft Office.
