QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experienced in accounting or project finance (5+ years) with exposure to construction or real estate development.
  • Comfortable handling both the details (bank recs, invoices, budget spreadsheets) and higher-level financial reviews.
  • Highly organized, disciplined, and detail-oriented, with a process-driven mindset.
  • Skilled in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with accounting software and project tools is a plus.
  • Effective communicator — able to flag issues early, provide clear reporting, and liaise with both leadership and on-the-ground project teams.
  • Adaptable to working across diverse regions, currencies, and vendor practices.
  • Candidates with a CPA designation or pursuing CPA designation preferred
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Accountant for Real Estate Development, you will be the financial backbone of a globally distributed portfolio of high-end development projects. Working closely with project managers and leadership, you’ll track budgets, scrutinize assumptions, and ensure financial accuracy at every step. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on detail, discipline, and accountability.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Your responsibilities will include:

Expense Tracking & Reconciliation: Manage day-to-day accounting for multiple construction projects, including vendor invoices, credit card activity, and bank reconciliations.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Maintain and update project budgets (CapEx and OpEx), tracking actuals vs. budget and surfacing variances proactively.
  • Financial Analysis: Review and challenge assumptions behind budgets and estimates, ensuring alignment with scope and market realities.
  • Reporting: Create clear, structured reporting for leadership on YTD spend, project forecasts, and capital allocation.
  • Documentation & Controls: Ensure contracts, invoices, and supporting documents are organized, compliant, and audit-ready.
  • Collaboration: Partner with project managers, vendors, and internal finance teams to support smooth execution of projects across multiple jurisdictions.
