We are currently looking for an Senior Accountant to join out team. You must have some public accounting experience and must have some Real Estate Industry knowledge to be considered. QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree or College degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Completed or in final stage of CPA, CMA, CGA, CA
  • Three years experience with full disclosure financial reporting and consolidation
  • Three years of experience in Financial Accounting, with Real Estate Accounting experience required
  • Proven track record of financial analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of the real estate industry; commercial and residential homebuilding experience preferred
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn and grow
  • Strong system skills (Caseware, Excel, Word, and Newstar) required
  • Full-time position with occasional extended hours to meet deadlines

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all financial reviews and variance analysis for corporate entities, partnerships, joint ventures, trusts and development projects managed
  • Responsible for financial review and variance analysis for investments
  • Responsible for accurate completion of year-end working papers and budget reports
  • Responsible for financial statement preparation and completion under ASPE for different legal entities
  • Assist and co-ordinate the year-end audits and working papers for various legal entities assigned
  • Responsible for all aspects of General Ledger
  • Manage capital asset schedule
  • Record transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, development funding and research, and apply the proper accounting solution
  • Assist with the establishment of standardized reporting, policies and procedures and systems to support a global asset management platform
  • Ensure consistent adherence of accounting standards, principles, policies and procedures in accordance with ASPE (accounting standards for private enterprises)
  • Other analyses and special projects as required by Management Team
