We are seeking a passionate senior accountant who is experienced in a large, complex, multi-site/entity organisation, is willing to work in a team and have the ability to prioritise their workload in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail along with effective communication and problem-solving skills are required to succeed in these roles.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business / commerce
  • CPA/CA qualified
  • Commercial experience in a large entity – 5+ years post-qualified
  • Experience as a Senior Accountant or Senior Management Accountant role desirable

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Excellent understanding of financial accounting and financial reporting systems with a capacity to interpret the financial reporting and processing needs of the organisational and communicate with IT
  • Very strong spreadsheet and ERP system experience and skill
  • Excellent understanding of monthly management reporting processes and prior experience with co-ordinating and completing monthly management reporting cycles
  • Possess change management, negotiating and influencing skills
  • Understanding of risk management and internal controls

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant on a permanent full-time basis to assist with the provision of financial accounting and reporting to meet management and statutory requirements, including the delivery of timely and accurate information, maintenance of reporting systems, financial policies and processes, reconciliations, internal controls compliance obligations. This role reports to the Financial Controller for Icon’s Cancer Care Australia division.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completing end of month reporting as per the business timetable including the

preparation and delivery of accurate financial reports for review by stakeholders

  • Working closely with the payroll department to ensure accurate recording of payroll in the ledger and perform regular reconciliations of all payroll related balances
  • Liaising with peers worldwide to reconcile inter-company accounts and transactions and account for any foreign exchange movements
  • Reviewing the work of support staff and ensure all entries are made correctly and on time for monthly, quarterly and interim/year-end reporting
  • Ensuring reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts are completed on a timely basis and in accordance with the end of month timetable
  • Assisting with the divisional statutory reporting process including liaising with external auditors and complete audit process on time
  • Assisting with the divisional budget process including liaising relevant stakeholders
  • Assisting with GST and FBT returns including all calculations, reconciliations and lodgement
  • Assisting with cashflow reporting and the forecasting
