Position Summary The Senior Accountant is an integral part of the finance and accounting team, reporting to the Accounting Manager. This position will be in Concord, NC.   A critical element to this role is to be a business partner and advisor to the other functions of the business.  As the Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in the financial operations of our organization with regards to month end close responsibilities, managing financial reporting, analyzing financial data, providing ad hoc analysis and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise will be essential in providing strategic financial guidance to the management team, contributing to the overall financial health and success of the organization.  As such, this role will be a highly visible role with a tremendous opportunity to drive change and positively impact our business, including involvement in an ERP implementation, acquisition integration/accounting and exposure to the senior leadership team.   Job Duties & Responsibilities * Support preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulatory standards. * Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis. * Determine the monthly Commissions payment calculation and accrual accounts, including support for sales teams with any questions. * Reconcile and ensure compliance for relevant sales and use tax liabilities, including administration of Avalara. * Provide critical support during mergers and acquisitions (M&A), including acquisition integration, accounting policy alignment, and system/process onboarding. * Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. * Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks. * Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and standards and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). * Build strong partnerships with other key functional leaders in the business as well as other key stakeholders. * Execute value-added analysis and provide decision support for special projects and initiatives. * Execute continuous process improvement efforts. * Assist in developing finance and business presentations and related supporting materials for the senior leadership team, Board of Directors (BOD) and other outside constituents. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Proven experience as a senior accountant or similar role, with a minimum of 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience. * Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles. * Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills. * Demonstrated business partnering and interpersonal skills. * Organized, flexible and easily adaptable to changing conditions. * Prior experience working with ERP systems, particularly Acumatica. * High degree of proficiency with Excel, MS Access and PowerPoint. * Strong project management skills. * High energy, high ownership of work and dedication and commitment to driving results. * Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in job shop settings. Minimum Qualifications * Excellent analytical skills. * Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance required. CPA or CMA certification preferred. * Experience working in public accounting firm. * Demonstrated abilities in financial modeling and analysis. * Proof of eligibility to work in the US.
