Sarens Canada is currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant based out of our Nisku office. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Finance Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

· CPA designation required.
· 5-10 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, and FP&A.
· Strong proficiency in MS Dynamics 365, Advanced Excel, and PowerBI.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to communicate financial insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
· Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced multinational environment.

Responsibilities

· Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow reconciliations, reporting, and analysis.
· Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with Group standards.
· Assist in forecast and budget preparations, ensuring accurate variance analysis and strategic alignment.
· Develop Power BI integrations to enhance data visualization and FP&A capabilities.
· Manage and escalate cross-business unit CAPEX registrations and maintain alignment with HQ Fleet registrations
· Lead cross-functional escalations related to PO compliance KPIs, ensuring alignment with financial controls and procurement policies.
· Participate in month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals review, project P&L audits, and depot financial reviews.
· Assist with Intercompany reconciliations and business unit reporting packages
· Ensure proper recording and reconciliation of financial transactions to maintain audit readiness.
· Support audit requests by providing complex analysis and data to internal and external auditors.
· Identify and implement process improvements in procurement, billing, and financial reporting.
· Provide data modeling and financial simulations to improve decision-making.
· Work closely with Depot Managers, inter-company team members, and accountants to ensure financial data accuracy and operational efficiency.
· Support VP Finance in explaining and linking financial performance to business operations.
· Review and mentor the Senior Accountant, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
· Provide guidance on complex accounting issues, reconciliations, and process improvements.
· Assist the VP Finance in strategic financial planning, forecasting, month-end activities, and business analysis.
· Provide financial insights and recommendations to support high-level decision-making.
