Sea West Coast Guard Federal Credit Union ($400M in assets) is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing comprehensive reports, and conducting insightful analyses that inform strategic decisions. This position requires a high level of precision, integrity, and analytical expertise.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a financial institution. Credit Union experience a plus.
· Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
· Excellent interpersonal and strong written and verbal communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

· Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries, including adjusting and closing entries.
· Account Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
· Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheets, income, and cash flow statements).
· Month-end and Year-end Close: Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely closing of accounts.
· Budgeting & Forecasting: Contribute to the budgeting process, analyze variances, and provide %85,00
· Internal Controls: Evaluate and monitor internal controls, identifying and mitigating risks.
· Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP), rules and regulations governing federal credit unions, and internal policies.
· Audits: Assist with external audits, preparing required documents and liaising with auditors.
· Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Recommend ways to reduce costs.
· Leadership: Provide guidance and support to Accounting staff.
