Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant position is integral to providing precise, timely, and actionable financial insights to our stakeholders. This role involves supporting financial reporting activities, conducting in-depth financial analyses, and contributing significantly to the creation of monthly financial statements.

Additionally, the Senior Accountant will oversee general ledger accounts, while taking responsibility for designated departmental initiatives and projects. Success in this role requires exceptional communication abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive, solution-focused mindset to overcome challenges and drive operational excellence, aligned with industry best practices. In this role you will:

  • Understands and is able to apply accounting principles and policies and stays up to date with changes
  • Prepares and reviews account reconciliations in month end closing process
  • Prepares complex journal entries for the monthly financial statement close
  • Analyses revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis and report on variances
  • Proactively seeks additional responsibilities as existing workload is optimized and automated away
  • Supports, documents, monitors, and executes internal control
  • Assists with external audit requests
  • Coordinates accounting matters with other departments
  • Prepares reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents that project the organization’s financial position
  • Prepares monthly financial statements and supporting schedules according to the monthly financial statement close schedule
  • Analyses accounting procedures, processes, and tasks, recommending and executing improvements with the aim of reducing redundancy, building efficiency, and increasing productivity, while ensuring compliance with company financial policies
  • Assists with completion of quarterly and annual regulatory filings
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements
