Job Description Job Summary: This role serves as the primary owner of the U.S. general ledger, with end-to-end responsibility for accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP. The Senior GL Accountant will manage complex general ledger accounting activities across the close and reporting cycle, while partnering closely with external advisors on U.S. federal and state tax-related accounting and compliance matters. What You’ll Do: Own general ledger accounting for the U.S. entity, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and alignment with global accounting policies. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including preparation of reconciliations and supporting schedules in accordance with established timelines. Oversee U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance by partnering with external tax advisors and providing accurate, timely financial data. Manage U.S. Sales and Use tax reconciliations and prepare supporting schedules for external filings. Prepare and post journal entries and perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances promptly. Prepare and maintain GL related documentation and schedules to support tax filings, audits, and external reviews. Serve as the primary point of contact for U.S.-related GL and audit inquiries. Support the preparation of U.S. financial statements and related disclosures and assist with external audit activities. Partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and tax advisors to ensure accurate GL postings and complete financial records. Collaborate with international GL accounting team to ensure consistent accounting practices across regions. Perform additional accounting-related duties within the scope of general ledger and compliance support, as required. Perform other tasks and responsibilities as needed Qualifications Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities): Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on U.S. general ledger accounting experience. Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and end-to-end general ledger accounting processes, including reconciliations and month-end close. Experience supporting U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance processes and coordinating with external tax advisors. Experience preparing audit documentation and supporting schedules for external audits and reviews. Ability to work onsite at least three (2) days per week. Proficiency with ERP systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for analysis, reconciliation, and reporting. Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and operate effectively without close supervision. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. Strong analytical judgment and professional skepticism, with the ability to identify irregularities, question inconsistencies, and proactively investigate and resolve issues. Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through. Clear, professional communication skills and a collaborative working style across Finance and cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications/Nice to Have: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar platforms. Spanish language, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
