About the job In this role, you will oversee accounting operations for multiple legal entities across mainland Europe, including our headquarters in Belgium. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions, managing the month-end close, and providing guidance and coaching to a team of two junior accountants. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will take full ownership of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger activities, including reconciliations, VAT reporting, and treasury management, including regular cash flow forecasting. With a commitment to continuous improvement, you will drive enhancements to internal systems and processes to optimize efficiency and maintain the highest standards of quality. You will also be the primary liaison for annual financial audits and tax compliance, partnering with external auditors and advisors to ensure adherence to local audit requirements and timely submission of tax filings. Your Profile Required skills and experience: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting or Finance, with strong technical knowledge of Belgian GAAP accounting principles and standards. Proven expertise in accounting and taxation, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering accurate financial reporting and compliance. Demonstrated experience in multinational environments, managing complexities of global operations and cross-border regulations. Leadership capability with experience mentoring and developing team members, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and integrity in all financial processes. Robust organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal), enabling clear and effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels. Desirable skills and experience (these are an added benefit, but not needed to apply): Experience of working in a software and/or professional services business. Familiarity with NetSuite. Technical knowledge of IFRS.
