Description Southern Foodservice Management provides onsite food preparation, café dining and catering services for all types of organizations throughout the country – from corporate and industrial clients to government and not-for-profit entities, schools and sports facilities. We are looking for a full-time Senior Accountant to join our growing, agile and innovative team in our Birmingham, AL corporate office. Primary responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include but are not limited to: Monthly P&L responsibility (one or more regions) Conduct monthly financial reviews and variance analysis; record corrections as needed with adherence to GAAP Manage external relationships with teaming partners, state agencies, etc. Prepare G/L account reconciliations and record related adjustments Calculate and record monthly corporate expense allocations Assess and develop key internal controls; focus on continuous improvement Develop and coach chef-managers on financial tasks; interact regularly with regional managers and executive team Maintain organized, accurate records for annual audits Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in accounting required 2+ years public accounting experience or 4+ years in corporate accounting environment Advanced degree or professional license a plus (CPA, MBA, CMA, etc.) Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus Skills Needed: Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and internal controls Continuous improvement: adept at breaking down financial processes, identifying weaknesses and finding reliable solutions Self-starter; keen attention to detail Highly skilled with MS Excel – advanced user Amiable, collaborative and proficient working closely with diverse teams Southern Foodservice Management offers the competitive benefit package including 401K, health & dental insurance plans, paid vacations, holidays, sick/personal leaves and other benefits.
