Our well-established client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team on a full-time basis. The chosen candidate is a strong team player with excellent communication skills that will be able to provide financial accounting support to the finance team. Main responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for day-to-day accounting activities including general ledger maintenance, payables and receivables, trust accounts, cost of goods sold, revenue and costs
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Provide analysis of gross margin, costs to complete and warranty provisions
  • Maintain reporting structure, ensure internal controls are in place and compliant with accounting policies and regulatory requirements and implement changes for improvements as needed
  • Provide support to external accountants, auditors, and consultants as needed
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist with audits and tax filings
  • Provide mentorship to junior finance team

Qualifications:

The main qualifications for this role include:

  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting or business
  • Minimum 3 years of financial reporting and/or accounting experience
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Strong Excel skills
