POSITION SUMMARY:

Tahoma Global Logistics (TGL) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team and support the financial operations of our expanding business. This position is responsible for all accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, journal entries, and accruals. This role also involves helping to develop and implement excellent accounting processes and procedures in addition to maintaining accurate financial records, managing invoice processes, and contributing to the companys overall financial health. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency and timeliness in reporting, general ledger management, reconciliation, and analysis. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Excellent attendance
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial data, identify discrepancies, and work with the operations team to resolve issues
  • Approve and post monthly customer invoice batches
  • Research and resolve any billing disputes
  • Route all vendor invoices to operations for approval
  • Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization
  • Ensure bills are paid in a timely manner to protect reputation and credit rating
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and payable balances in a timely manner
  • Record and reconcile all general ledger activity including the creation of month-end accruals and journal entries in accordance with GAAP
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations
  • Prepare financial statements including balance sheets and income statements
  • Assist with reporting on company financial performance, including against budgets
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits
  • Issue and track purchase orders
  • Maintain and reconcile credit cards and online purchase accounts
  • Process expense reimbursements
  • Provide maintenance support of Container and Maintenance and Repair material inventory levels
  • Maintain, report, and record depreciation from established fixed assets ledger
  • Hold, maintain, and manage vendor contracts
  • Keep records of monthly recurring billing to ensure all billing is consistent with contracts held
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Contribute wherever possible, for improvements regarding safety, quality, delivery, and cost through continuous improvement methods; identify potential areas of risk, and promptly share critical business information with key stakeholders to maximize results throughout TGL
  • Coordinate effective teamwork and use all company resources efficiently to promote superior financial results for TGL; help maintain TGL equipment and assets.
  • Establish and maintain effective business relationships with all employees, vendors, business partners, government/regulatory entities, and communities in which we operate
  • Strictly enforce workplace safety measures; safeguard the welfare of all employees, guests, visitors, and business partners at all times; promptly report workplace risks, incidents, injuries, and near misses; consistently wear and utilize all required PPE
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary business information and safeguard TGL assets at all times
