Job Description
A well-established company in the agribusiness sector is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role will take the lead on most day-to-day accounting operations and play a key part in financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end and year-end close, including preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
  • Monitor and record transactions impacting inventory and daily position balances
  • Support customer credit management
  • Set up new accounts, credit assessments, and monitoring receivables
  • Assist with settlements, year-end audit, and regulatory filings
  • Identify process improvements and recommend cost-saving measures
  • Prepare reports and support special projects as needed

Qualifications and Strengths

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or Business Administration
  • 2-3 years of experience within a full cycle accounting role
  • Knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel; ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work across teams
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Grain accounting is a preference, but not required

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $65,000–$90,000. Final compensation will be based on your experience, qualifications, skillset, location, and internal pay equity.
