About the role We’re seeking a Senior Accountant (9-month fixed term) to lead high-quality financial and sustainability reporting and strengthen financial governance across the organisation. You’ll join an innovative team, who value collaboration, continuous improvement, and supporting each other to deliver strong financial outcomes. As our Senior Accountant, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work. Day-to-day, you will: Ensure strong financial and sustainability reporting governance by maintaining compliance with accounting standards, policies, and internal controls Analyse financial data to provide insights, identify trends, and support business decision-making Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver accurate reporting and resolve financial and sustainability reporting queries Review and improve existing processes, driving efficiency and operational excellence Support audits by preparing required documentation and liaising with auditors Coach and support junior team members, fostering capability and knowledge sharing This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including: Strong financial statement preparation experience Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels Ability to evaluate, improve, and establish financial and sustainability reporting processes and procedures Confident working with systems and data models to drive insights and accuracy A collaborative mindset, with experience coaching or supporting junior team members If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.
