__________ FINANCIAL SERVICES DIVISION | TE RATOKA PŪTEA FINANCIAL CONTROL The role | Te mahi Reporting to the Financial Controller, this dynamic role places you at the heart of a collaborative and high-performing team. A major focus of the role is supporting the University of Otago Foundation Trust, which manages a large diverse investment portfolio funding more than five hundred projects across the university. A key task will be strengthening oversight of investment activities to support strategic goals and reviewing how funds are distributed to improve efficiency and impact. In addition, you will work with the wider Financial Control team to oversee and perform complex accounting, group, budget, tax, and related functions and provide advice to key areas while gaining exposure to strategic decision-making and impactful initiatives. You will also take the lead on a variety of unique, high-impact projects that offer variety and the chance to make a real difference. Your skills and experience | Kā pūkeka me kā wheako We are seeking an innovative and forward-thinking professional with expertise in quality financial management including accounting principles, internal control systems, and risk management. Your ability to build trust and foster collaboration enables you to develop strong stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively to inform, persuade, and negotiate. Other key strengths and skills required include: • Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a comparable field. • Experience providing financial and group accounting in a large complex organisation. • Proven experience in budgeting and forecasting within a group structure. • Proficient in writing and presenting comprehensive financial reports tailored for Senior Leadership Team. • Investment experience preferred, including knowledge of investment markets, equities, bonds etc. • Dedication to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner and demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and Pasifika values. Further details | Pūroko This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours) based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin. The appointments range for this role is $107,320 to $115,834. Top of the range $124,348.
