Position Summary The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the accounting operations of Moses Electric LLC and affiliated entities under Upchurch Holdings. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally with project managers, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Month-End Close Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and intercompany transactions Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies timely Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Maintain supporting documentation for audit readiness General Ledger & Account Reconciliations Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany accounts Investigate and resolve accounting variances Process Improvement & Controls Assist in developing and improving accounting procedures and internal controls Support system integrations between BuildOps and Sage Intacct Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy Audit & Compliance Assist with external audit requests and provide supporting schedules Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies Maintain proper documentation for financial transactions Payroll Accounting Prepare and post all routine and non-routine payroll journal entries (gross pay, taxes, benefits, employer contributions, and labor allocations as applicable) each pay period Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts monthly (wages payable, payroll tax liabilities, benefits, retirement contributions, garnishments), ensuring amounts agree to payroll reports and cash activity Review payroll registers and funding reports for reasonableness and proper coding, and work with HR/payroll to research and resolve discrepancies Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 3–5 years of accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience with Sage Intacct and/or BuildOps (preferred) Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong organizational skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently and proactively Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience.
