This role maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems, while supervising and working closely with staff accountants across portfolios and ownership groups to ensure timely and accurate financial reports. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: · Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, leadership, and residents. · Outstanding organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and deadlines efficiently. · A passion for chasing excellence and providing exemplary customer service. · Mastery of GAAP principals · Previous experience with financial/property management software · Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, leadership, and residents. · Outstanding organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and deadlines efficiently. · Ability to maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: · Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of managed properties in accordance with GAAP and client requirements. · Ensure accurate and timely month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, allocations, and intercompany postings. · Review general ledger activity to ensure proper coding by property, entity, and ownership structure. · Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and analyze actual vs. budget variances and provide clear explanations for ownership and asset managers. · Ensure compliance with management agreements, client reporting standards, and lender requirements. · Prepare and review owner distributions, equity contributions, and capital transactions. · Respond to client questions regarding financials with professionalism, accuracy, and timeliness. · Oversee cash management activities including bank reconciliations, reserve tracking, and cash flow analysis. · Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and explanations. · Coordinate with tax providers on annual returns, property tax reconciliations, and required filings. · Oversee the activities of a team of staff accountants reviewing their work for accuracy and timely dissemination of financial management reports. · Communicate with clients as needed for financial reporting and ensure funding requests are presented in an accurate and timely manner to ensure adequate funding and vendor and bill payment. · Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compiles a variety of special reports and work closely with the Accounting Manager · Perform all other duties as assigned   SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE: · Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance · Minimum 3-5 years in a similar position. · Proven success in managing a team of 3-5 staff accountants, ensuring the preparation and submission of monthly financials accurately, on or before deadlines. · Preferred experience within the property management industry   PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: · Frequently sit, stand and walk. · Regularly required to talk or hear. · Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls. · Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. · Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. · Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. · The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. · Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate, though the ability to withstand seasonal cold and heat of the outdoors is necessary.   TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: · Travel is not expected for this position; however, travel for special circumstances up to 5% of the time as needed.
