Our complete waste management service incorporates the collection and safe disposal of solid and liquid waste. The company employs over 80 team members and due to continued investment and expansion are now looking to recruit an experienced and professional Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our Organisation.

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the production of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting the Financial Controller in achieving financial targets and successfully running the finance function while the business grows. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to contribute to the overall success of the business through value-added activities.

Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly (by business unit), and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.

• Budgeting: Compile annual budgets for the business in alignment with targets and objectives.
• General Ledger Management: Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries in addition to reconciliations and month-end closings
• Financial Analysis: Analyse financial trends, costs, revenues, and liabilities to provide actionable insights to management.
• Department Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments (Operations) to analyse financial data, support budgeting and financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
• Department Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to existing finance department staff(Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll)
• Tax Compliance Management: Manage tax and compliance filings, including VAT, PAYE, RCT, Corporation Tax, and other regulatory obligations.
• Credit Management Oversight: Helping to reduce debtors’ days by ensuring oversight of the accounts receivable department in the efficient and timely collection of outstanding balances.
• Year End Audit Collaboration: Collaborate with the external auditors in the annual year end audit process to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Process improvement/Automation: Identify opportunities to enhance existing accounting processes, implementing automation and efficiencies where possible.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Professional Account Qualification(preferred) with experience in a similar role within an SME environment (preferred).
• Ability to work independently, using own initiative and as part of a team with effective listening and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a fluency in Written and Verbal English.
• Self-Starter and energetic personability with an ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Excel and MS Outlook in particular) and Sage 50 Accounts (would be beneficial)
