Overview:
The Senior Accountant has primary responsibilities for executing month and year end closing processes, cost analysis, research, and resolution of issues to understand and adhere to accounting policy and procedure across the Renewable and Industrial space within the CE&I Group. The successful candidate will have an ability to thrive in an environment of rapid change; work effectively within cross-functional teams; will be highly resourceful; able to deliver strong results; have a passion for operational excellence and possess a strong set of communication and analytical skills. This position also provides support in the execution of corporate accounting functions and development of corporate general accounting procedures.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5-7 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek’s Zero Injury principles
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Viewpoint and Excel
  • Proficient communication, interpersonal and organization skills along with an attention to detail and a high level of accuracy and professionalism
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with simultaneous deadlines and prioritize workload in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interact with multiple personalities at all levels within the organization
  • Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Assist supervisors with preparation of reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
