Wallace and Wallace, an ASSA ABLOY branded Company, is looking for a full-time Senior Accounting Analyst to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work out of our office located at 90 Lowson Crescent, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to understand the details and effectively present to Senior Management in a clear and concise manner
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting and/or finance
  • Enrolled or completion of a certified accounting program or equivalent combined level of education and appropriate level of progressive accounting experience
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience in construction, manufacturing or a related industry preferred
  • Advanced understanding of accounting principles, including maintenance of ledgers and cash flows with the ability to analyze and recommend potential strategies
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Demonstrates confidence and a collaborative attitude with all team members
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced features for data manipulation and analysis
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office, strong computer skills and experience with various accounting software packages, knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains would be an asset

Responsibilities
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries and analysis as required
  • Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliation
  • Manage and review employee credit cards and expense reports using Concur
  • Maintain and reconcile capital asset and capital lease schedules
  • Review inventory standard costs and collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate inventory valuation
  • Prepare GST and PST remittances
  • Provide accounting support to various business units and colleagues across the department
  • Develop and document SOPs and process improvements
  • Other duties as required
