POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of our construction business. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional with deep knowledge of construction accounting practices, project costing, and financial compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing budgets, and supporting strategic decision-making across multiple projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation preferred).
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including job costing, WIP schedules, retainage, and progress billing.
  • Proficiency in construction accounting software Sage 50 or similar
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

    Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Oversee job costing, project billing, and revenue recognition in accordance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Collaborate with project managers and estimators to monitor budgets, track costs, and analyze variances.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, government reporting requirements, and industry-specific financial standards.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit preparation and execution.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures tailored to construction operations.
  • Support financial planning, forecasting, and cash flow management across projects.
