Description:
The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the accounting function for DP World’s non-operating entities and terminals. This role ensures the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, while adhering to both internal and external timelines for all statutory and tax compliance reporting.
Furthermore, the position is to provide leadership and training to the DP World Australia accounting team.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Accounting related Degree and Professional accounting qualifications (CPA, CA)
- Strong experience in accountant role for a multi-national organisation preferred
- Experience with Oracle Fusion preferred
- At least 7-10 years post qualification experience
- Must have previous leadership experience
- Sound knowledge of financial accounting, auditing, taxation, regulatory and legal requirements
- Must be able to work within constant and demanding time frames
- Proven high ethics and ability to work with highly confidential information
- Extensive experience with accounting software
- Experience with year-end account preparation essential
- Budget and forecast preparation and consolidation
- Solid communications skills, both verbal and written
- Advanced interpersonal skills and strong analytical skills

Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of accounting data and its timely flow for input to the centralised accounting system.
- Prepare, reconcile and consolidate monthly BAS returns (GST, Fuel Excise, FBT, etc) for group companies to ensure timely returns to ATO
- Monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts including intercompany and resolve any unreconciled issues in the accounts.
- Reconciliation of Inventory to general ledger
- Prepare monthly reporting schedules for Global and CF statements for multiple entities across the group
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. Analyze budget variances and provide insights on financial performance.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns and assist Tax Manager to ensure Group compliance to all Australian tax laws.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, laws, and regulations
- Identify and develop opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
